Hi there, this blog is devoted to people with busy lives that want to live more sustainably as well as have improved health and wellbeing.
My name is Tara Naylor and I want you to know that living more sustainably is possible without suffering a feeling of lack or deprivation. In fact, living more sustainably can make you healthier and give you a greater sense of wellbeing.
I have learned through the study and application of actions related to health and fitness, wellbeing, and climate change that health, happiness and the environment are closely intertwined. If you want to know more about me and my academic qualifications and continuing education, click here.
I created this blog because so many people are afraid of what living sustainably with a low carbon footprint can mean. Living a sustainable life does not require money; it does not mean huge job losses or need large technological advancement. Living sustainably and reducing your carbon and water footprints does not have to mean living off-grid, becoming a vegan, or growing and making everything you eat and use.
Many people really want to make positive changes but are afraid of making the wrong choices or are overwhelmed. There is so much conflicting information from the media, academia and politicians.
You may be frightened about what the consequences of inaction may be or even the consequences of taking action may be to yourself, your family and community. It is easy to become overwhelmed, paralyzed by fear and worry and then just go back to living how you were. But then you feel disconnected between the life you are living and what you want to do and where you want to be.
I know this; I have been paralyzed into inaction too. I have been overwhelmed with my job, home and life and felt like I have no more time or energy left.
Through this blog we will explore how make changes that can easily be integrated into your busy life. These activities will not only improve your ecological foot print but will improve other aspects of your life too, such as improving your health, wellbeing and even save you money.
Together we can explore powerful targeted actions to help you live a happier, healthier, greener life.
